The Didgeridoo Book e CD

Il libro è ben scritto, e contiene una discreta quantità d'informazioni
riguardanti i molti aspetti del didgeridoo. Devo però dire che il suo
sottotitolo ("Da Principianti ad Avanzati") può essere un po' fuorviante.
In effetti, non penso che i suonatori "avanzati" beneficeranno granché dalla
lettura di questo libro. I principianti e gli intermedi, invece, vi
troveranno un bel po' di utili consigli su come cominciare, apprendere i
fondamentali e gradatamente migliorare la propria perizia strumentale.
Da un punto di vista puramente teorico, anche il disegno che illustra la
respirazione circolare è utile.
Lo stesso potrebbe essere detto del CD accluso, anche se penso che nel suo
caso anche i suonatori "avanzati" potrebbero trovarvi cose utili. Il
segmento "Vocalizzazioni", ad esempio, contiene alcuni suoni interessanti.
Il CD potrebbe anche essere un buon strumento d'insegnamento per quei
suonatori che danno anche lezioni di tecnica strumentale.

The book is well written, and contains a fair deal of information about the
many aspects of the didgeridoo. But I must say that its subheading ('From
Beginners to Advanced') may be a bit misleading.
I don't actually think
advanced players will benefit much by the reading of this book. Beginners
and intermediate players, instead, will find plenty of useful tips about
getting started, learning the basics and gradually improve their playing
skills. From a purely theoretical point of view, the drawing illustrating
circular breathing is helpful too.
The same could be said about he accompanying CD. Anyway, I think that even
advanced players might find interesting things in it. The "Vocalisations"
segment, for instance, contains some interesting sounds. The CD might also
be a good teaching tool for those players who also give lessons on playing
technique.
